The Pilates Method

The objective of the Pilates method is to create perfect harmony between body and mind in order to stimulate the neuromuscular system and promote a healthier physical structure. Breathing in Pilates is deep and coordinated with movements which elongate muscles, release tensions, align the spine and correct muscular imbalances. The method also makes the joints more supple and reestablishes natural posture with the use of the core work. Pilates teaches you to control your body through six major principles: Concentration, Contril, Centering, Breathing, Precision and Fluidity.

The method is appropriate for people suffering from back pain and is also excellent for pregnant women or women who have recently given birth. Pilates can be done by people of all ages and at all levels of physical fitness.
